PHILLY DISCO - INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH - ZIP (MAIN) £24.95
COLOUR HOUSE VOCALS - LOOPMASTERS - ZIP (Main) £29.95
This is yet another of those Loopmasters crackers that will have your DAW sweating with excitement. YES! The good old vocoder surfaces yet again so you can build some excellent banging Techno - or even use them in House or Trance if you fancy because the loops timestretch without losing any quality whatsoever.
Anyway, without further ado, let us all enlighten ourselves....
The vocoder was developed in 1928 by Bell Labs, and first demonstrated in 1939 at the New York World's Fair. Its intended use was to reduce the bandwidth of voice information, allowing it to be transferred across further distances.
What was the first song to use a vocoder?
In 1971, synth designer Bob Moog and composer Wendy Carlos combined various synthesizer modules to improvise the vocoder that can be heard on the soundtrack to “A Clockwork Orange.”
1978 saw the beginning of mainstream vocoder use, riding on the back of popularity created through the music of Herbie Hancock, Kraftwerk, and a handful of other artists.
WHAT? Almost unbelievable. Developed in 1928??? Amazing indeed and wonderful how it's 'stayed with us' for years and years.
This pack is so good because you get an excellent variety of tones such as 'pitched up', 'pitched down' plus 'ordinary' so you can get superb harmonies out of the loops as well.
They come in lots of keys and roll along at 128bpm so yet again you have lots of scope for tracks.
The loops all have titles as well including 'Aliens', 'Flee', 'In The Sky' and 'Inner Grace' to name but three.
This pack will really grip you and you'll get your hands on:
Enough for you to play with? You bet.

INFINITY CHOIR - LOOPMASTERS - ZIP (Main) - £29.95
VIBES 21 - 60's PSYCHEDELIA 2 - LOOPMASTERS
ZIP (MAIN) £29.95
I for one am so chuffed whenever another release in Loopmasters' Vibes series materialises and this one, number 21, is 'up there' with the rest of them when it comes to quality and enjoyment.
It's also good to take a 'step back in time' to the Swinging Sixties and this pack sure delivers the goods with the 'psychedelia' sound often associated with the likes of Woodstock.
The Monterey International Pop Festival was a three-day music festival held June 16 to 18, 1967, at the Monterey County Fairgrounds in Monterey, California but of course the one most music aficionados have heard of is the Woodstock Music Festival which began on August 15, 1969 and went down in pop culture history as a symbol of the counterculture movement of the sixties. Woodstock took place during the controversial Vietnam War, when many young people wanted to spread the message of peace.
So get a genuine blast from the past into your DAW and revisit those great musical times.
As Loopmasters says:
"This collection is inspired by the groundbreaking sounds of iconic acts such as the Yardbirds, Steppenwolf, and The Beatles, as well as more contemporary psychedelic pioneers like The Chemical Brothers and Tame Impala. The sample pack’s also influenced by quirky soundtracks of spy and crime shows from that era. This diverse influence allows your music to blend across multiple genres, including rock, soul, and cinematic film scores.
"Featuring eight distinctive kits, along with a wide array of loops and one-shots, 60’s Psychedelia is anchored by iconic electric guitars, deep bass guitars, and dynamic live drums, creating the bedrock of this trippy compilation. The melodic selection extends to including enchanting sitars, resonant organs, pianets, pianos, electric keyboards, harpsichords, violins, glockenspiels, trombones, synths, horns, and even zithers. Adding rhythmic intricacy are mixed percussions like tabla, claps, claves, maracas, shakers, and tambourines, while additional effects contribute depth and dimension."
