And if you didn't know...Bossa nova is a relaxed style of samba that emerged in the late 1950s and early 1960s in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It features a calm, syncopated rhythm, often mimicking a samba groove on the guitar with fingerstyle playing. Known for its use of unconventional chords and complex progressions, bossa nova is heavily influenced by jazz, though its intricate harmonies evolved independently. Many bossa nova songs are now considered jazz standards.
